Greymoor Homes was appointed by the Rother District Council (RDC) Housing Company to build new, energy-efficient homes on the former Blackfriars site, with construction started in early 2025 and scheduled for completion by summer 2027, aiming to provide affordable housing.
The development will be the largest rural town housing project delivered within the Rother district in over ten years. Hyper Fibers was selected as key partner to supply the material for the earth retaining walls and reinforced soil structures built with granular as well as Class 2 site won fill material using drainage-reinforcing composite.
More than 18 structures were built up to 8m in heigth, using using different techniques such as polymeric crib walls, hybrid reinforced walls, earth anchored structures with narrow footprint and reinforced soil slopes.
